The Holy Quran: Your Best Cure and Ultimate Protection

Hello there! Did you know the Holy Quran is more than just a book? It is the best medicine for us!

Almighty Allah tells us in the Quran: “And We send down in the Qur’an that which is a cure for the Muslims.” (Al-Isra 17:82).

The Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) also said, “Quran is the best medicine.” This means the Quran can help us with many things. Let’s learn how!

How is the Quran a Perfect Cure?

Scholars say the Holy Quran helps us in three main ways. It is a cure for:

  1. Inner Sickness: It gives us good advice and guidance. This helps stop bad ideas and makes our hearts good.

  2. Body Sickness: Reciting the Quran brings great blessings. These blessings can help remove pain and sickness from our bodies.

  3. Life's Problems: It makes the rules and duties of life easy to understand and follow.

The great Imam Razi said that reading the Holy Quran can remove physical sickness because of its powerful blessings.

Proof of Healing by Blowing (Ruqyah)

Have you ever seen someone read some words and then gently blow? This is a Sunnah (way of the Prophet) for healing.

Once, the Angel Jibril (Gabriel) came to the Prophet Muhammad when he had a fever. Jibril (peace be upon him) read these words and blew on the Prophet:

“I blow on you with the name of Allah from everything that ails you... May Allah cure you! I blow on you with the name of Allah.” (Sahih Muslim)

This shows that reciting Holy Words and blowing is a true way to seek a cure from Allah.

The Use of Amulets (Taweezat) in Islam

An amulet, or Taweez, is when you write Holy words from the Quran or Hadith on paper. You can keep it with you for protection.

Proof from the Holy Prophet's Time

  • Protecting from Jinns: A companion named Abu Dujana once had trouble with Jinns at night. The Holy Prophet asked a paper to be written with holy words. When Abu Dujana put the paper under his pillow, the Jinns screamed and left.

  • Protection for Children: Another companion, Abdullah bin Amr, had a powerful prayer from the Prophet for when someone is scared in sleep. He would teach this prayer to his older children. For the younger children who could not say it, he would write the prayer on a sheet and hang it around their neck. (Tirmidhi)

This shows that writing and wearing Holy words for protection is allowed in Islam.

A Cure for Eye Sickness

Imam Shafi'ee, a great scholar, once wrote some verses on paper for a man with a bad eye disease. When the man wore this paper (amulet), his eyes became better!

Which Amulets Are NOT Allowed?

Not all amulets are good or allowed in Islam. The forbidden ones are:

  1. Amulets with Shirk: Any writing that contains words of polytheism (believing in more than one god) is strictly forbidden.

  2. Black Magic: Amulets that are made through black magic are not allowed.

  3. Unknown Meanings: Writings whose meaning you do not know. They might have bad or blasphemous words.

  4. Used for Evil: Amulets used to hurt others, like trying to separate a husband and wife.

Conclusion

The Holy Quran is a blessing and a perfect cure for our minds, souls, and bodies. Seeking a cure through the Quran, the beautiful Names of Allah, and blessed prayers is a great act of faith.

Always make sure any prayer or amulet you use has good and clear meanings from Islam. Trust in Allah for all your healing and protection.
